ALI DURGUNOGLU - ADVISORY CHAIR

​

Ali DurgunoÄŸlu was born and raised in Izmir, Turkey. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Civil Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey. Following his graduate study, Ali taught at METU and worked at the engineering company GEMAS in Ankara.

 

In 1980, Ali moved to US to work towards his PhD degree at Purdue University. After receiving his PhD in 1985, Ali worked for 9 years as a researcher at Illinois State Water Survey, in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. After that Ali has worked as a water resource engineer with Hennepin Conservation District and Hennepin County in Minnesota. He is currently retired.

 

Ali joined the Board of TAAM on January 2011, and in 2012 he was appointed by the Board to the office of Vice-President due to a vacancy. He served as the President of TAAM during the 2013-2014 term and has been serving the Board at different positions since then. He is currently servings at Advisory Chair and assistant to the Treasurer.
