Several TAAM members and their families drove to the Maple Leaf Orchard west of Hudson, WI to enjoy picking apples.  Perfect weather, gorgeous scenery and tractor rides into the orchard made for a wonderful Saturday afternoon.  Pictures will be online soon.

Consul General of Turkey-Chicago Fatih Yildiz visited the Twin Cities between September 22-24th.  While here, he spoke at an MIC event, hosted a gathering at his hotel for the Turkish community, visited local businesses and attended several events.  His arrival was chronicled in a TurkishNY.com website article located below:

We had a successful festival.  It was well attended both at the Turkish booth and throughout.  We would like to thank all of those who helped prepare food, dance at the event, educate fellow Minnesotans on everything from Safranbolu to the art of drinking Turkish coffee.

A special congratulations to Esra Riggs for winning the top prize at the cultural exhibition for her display on the beautiful town of Safranbolu.  Her photographs, authentic clothing and literature painted a rich portrait of the Black Sea coast town’s history and scenic beauty.
